About Shiatsu

What does shiatsu do?

Our shiatsu is based on Namikoshi Shiatsu. It was invented by Tokujiro Namikoshi and is the most commonly used form of shiatsu in Japan today. It combines the concepts of traditional Chinese medicine, knowledge of acupuncture points, and Western medical knowledge of the anatomy and physiology adapted to the specific situation of the person.

Shiatsu is familiar to Japanese people

They receive it regularly for pain relief, as a way to relax after work, or for daily physical and mental maintenance.

In traditional Chinese medicine, the body is viewed as a single organism, and a person’s ailments are addressed from two different perspectives: one specific and the other holistic. Therefore, treatment is based on the idea that even vague ailments or ailments with unclear causes can be improved by enhancing the body’s self-healing power. Shiatsu has no side effects like medication. Through non-invasive manual techniques that boost self-healing power, it is expected to gradually improve discomfort.
